The False Creek waterfront neighbourhood is bounded by West 6th Avenue to the south, the False Creek waterway to the north, Ontario Street and TELUS World of Science to the east and Burrard Street and Burrard Street Bridge to the west. False Creek incorporates Granville Island, Molson Breweries, the Olympic Village and the Seaforth Armoury.
Before becoming such a vibrant area, it was originally the industrial heartland of Vancouver with sawmills and small port businesses. It wasn’t until the 1990’s that this area was re-purposed with plans for condos and townhouses, co-op and low-income housing, marinas, and the waterfront market. By 2010 the Winter Olympic Village was built, and today there is much new growth and construction.
